Mapper Application (girish)

My name is girish and I'm applying for the position of mapper.
i know English well and i am friendly with other players .Here's one of my work.

Good effort.

The castle looks allot like a paper-cutout from a pop-up book.

Try and create the illusion of depth more in the buildings especially.

It would also be more realistic and look better if the rock-face behind the waterfall continued along the whole screen, instead of just a thin cliff popping out of nowhere.

Keep it up.

hey how are you doing, let me give you some advice... first off the map does look good

(I'll help you out because you look like you somewhat know what your doing)

shading- looks good but try to keep all the shading going the same way

(i made a picture of what you should try to do with shading and making your maps look less pop up bookish)

thanks for the advice vicar.Well since it was for an application i didn't think too much about making a map that looks like its connected to something.I thought of making a map that does go anywhere and looks like it wouldn't go anywhere and just be a map where i can map what i can.Sorry if it isn't good lol

sometimes you need to think out side the box to beat competition and get that extra foot in the door

Dont Forget to use you imagination, like the shadowing with the trees it took a while for people to start using cave tiles as the shadow.. who knows you could make the next trend..

Although i will have to criticize the tiles,

1st... those path tiles should be killed lol no one uses them or finds a way to use them effectively

2nd.. that water fall till needs some work

You should always always always make a map look like it connects to another map even if it doesn't, the thing is if you make a map a stand alone like you did and continue down that path your going to end up with square looking maps ill show you the example of what i mean....

When this server first opened they made most of their maps like that and i took some screen shoots to show them what i ment.. so here they are




so take my advice for what its worth maybe youll get better and have a couple servers looking for you
